Housewarming Series: Pt 1. Living Room, Dining Room

Our new place! We actually just moved about 2 blocks up
the street. ;) Same neighborhood, but far better quality of life.
The biggest difference being: This house is actually WARM!
Oh and the extra storage is fantastic.

Right when you walk in, to the left is the
living room. (directly in front of the doorway
is a tiny wall with a small mirror to reflect
back any negative chi that might enter the house,
and next to that is the main bathroom).

Sofa, Chairs, Coffee Table are vintage.
Glass book case, rug, curtains: Ikea.
Epic Killer Whale Painting: Gift.

What husband was staring at in previous photo:
Our ancient television set.
Head sculpture: By Abe
Helmet on sculpture: WWI

The wall to the left of the TV
(you can tell by the sculpture in lower
right hand corner of photo).
Flower Picture is made cut out construction
paper, by Abe.

Nose Charcoal drawing: Joanna.

Pictures have to be hung this way since
the house was built in 1917 and the walls
are still lath & plaster, which make
it a GREAT inconvenience to hang photos with
a hammer and nails.

Past the living room is the dining room.
Vintage Communist China propaganda posters
found at the Hell's Kitchen Flea Market in NYC.
*we are not communist, but I am married to a Historian.

Table: From Joanna's childhood.
Chairs & Curtains: Ikea
Rug: ROSS find! $79.

Dining room: View from Window.
Vintage bird sculpture that Abe found and fixed up.
Tank: Our pet "lobster" Bisque.

Dining Room:
Our bookshelf (Ikea) next to window.
